RICHARD WALLACE KLOMP

Richard (Rick) Wallace Klomp, MOB, MS, Licensed Professional Counselor, BCPC, Certified Clinical Traumatologist is the founder, and seasoned counselor of Helping Kids Heal, LLC. Publishing over six books in the Sometimes Series, he is the visionary behind the team.

Rick, who has been married 39 years, is the proud father of four accomplished children. His wife, Pam, owned and operated the Atlanta Harmony Road Music School. Like most of us, Rick and Pam have experience negotiating many of the curves and road blocks frequently encountered on the path of life. Growing up in Oregon, Idaho and Nevada, Rick started college in Reno, Nevada  before moving to Germany for two years. When he returned to the states, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Communications (with a minor in Psychology). Two years later, he earned his Master of Organizational Behavior degree (that focuses on managing change and dealing with the resistance that typically accompanies change).

Rick began his professional career in Human Resources in the healthcare industry. He had the opportunity to work in Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Louisville and chicago before bringing his family to the Atlanta area. While working full time, in 1996, Rick went back to graduate school and completed a second master's degree, this time a Master of Science, in Community Counseling at Georgia State University. He graduated, successfully completed his National Counselor examination (like a CPA or BAR exam), obtained his license and began counseling at a local Family Services clinic.

Rick currently works for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Behavioral Scientist and Employee Assistance Program Counselor after having spent over a decade focusing on how to safeguard the health, safety and resilience of team members deployed to dangerous environments.

AREZOO RISMAN

Arezoo is a passionate philanthropist who knows what it means to give back to the community. As founder, author, and marketing director of Helping Kids Heal LLC, there is no greater feeling to her than helping those in need. Always willing to listen and selflessly offer assistance, writing has given her the power to transpire change to her readers.

As a first generation immigrant, Arezoo and her immediate family emigrated from Tehran to Canada in the height of the Iran-Iraq War. Beginning a new life with two suitcases, Arezoo spent her childhood in Vancouver where she taught herself English and French, while learning how to read and write Farsi at home. At the age of 12, Arezoo was faced with another move to a new country with her family—this time with four suitcases to America.

For the past 18 years, Arezoo has been living proof of the American dream in Atlanta, Georgia. Studying hard and working relentlessly in school to graduate at the top of her class, Arezoo received many merit-based scholarships to Emory University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and double minored in Global Health and Persian Language & Literature. Before graduating college during the Great Recession, Arezoo accepted a prestigious offer from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She began working full time as she continued her studies as a full time graduate student earning her Master of Public Health with a concentration in health management and policy from the University of Georgia.

A pioneer and innovator for projects at CDC, Arezoo holds tenure with nearly a decade of federal service as a senior health communications specialist. Thirsty for knowledge, she pursued graduate school full-time again for her Master of Business Administration and Project Management Certificate from Georgia State University. Additionally, she is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt from Georgia Tech University.

In her spare time, Arezoo enjoys yoga, meditation, and spending quality time with family and friends.
